Contraband

Recently, students have been found in possession of contraband on campus.  As defined by the Department of Education Chapter 19, contraband means, " a property, other than which is unlawful to produce or possess, which, as defined by local school rules, is prohibited on school premises because the possession or use of the property on school premises has in the past led to bodily injury or disruption of school operations”. (Ch. 19, page 4).

Examples of contraband are pagers, electronic devices (CD
players, iPod, MP3 players, games, digital cameras, etc). gang- related items, caps/hats, nuisance toys, live animals, water balloons, chewing gum. Parents will be called in to claim confiscated items and students will be given a consequence.

Unfortunately, devices such as iPods have been stolen before, during and after school hours, both on and off campus.  Please remind your child about our school policy.
